Standing beneath the shower head, as water trickle down and all i hear is water hitting hard on the floor. I knew that i found my second escape that i needed. I couldnt but keep my eyes shut and let my mind go just for that couple of seconds, and was dreading every second of it as i had get out of the bathroom.

I am haunted...

Haunted by thoughts and problems which cant be dealt with

Bogged with nauseous hallucinations filling my mind.

Trepidation is my enemy for with fear, comes lost

Being an OCD is my only vice and courage is what im trying to build within me

With courage, i believe nothing can stand in the way....

Now,

Every inch of my body aches from my daily evening run

NTL, I am starting to enjoy my evening run, exasperating i must admit, but its my other form of getting away from reality into a world free of troubles.

Every step i take becomes a chant

As the music from my ishuffle mute the outside world

My mind focused to keep myself from collapsing

Nightmare

Had a nightmare. I woke up middle of the night shocked and perturbed of what was happening and only to be relieved to know that im warmly tucked in my room, in Auckland.

Not your average kind of ghouls behind your neck, determined to push you of your edge; not the dramatic kind where your girlfriend leaves you for another guy, or worse another girl OR when your plot or your surroundings doesnt add up and gets you all sweaty..

Its the POST Traumatic kind. The kind that has happened before and is haunting you. The kind that you know its possible, cause it has happened to you. The kind that leaves you in fear, tucked away in a tight congested box in the dark. The kind that gets your heart pumping, your gut wrenched making you nauseous.

I was afraid. Afraid that its happening all over again.. It may just be. But not here. Not now.

This is my 2nd. The first, as i thought was just a recollection of a tiring day, with your subconscious mind playing a fool. I guess when there's the 2nd, youll be anticipating for the 3rd real soon.

Cantankerous Self

Ive come to a point in my life that i think its safe to say i'm no longer my sane, usual, partially uptight with occasional carefree moments self. Its daunting to know that i am able to sense the change in me and that its not something that i could (or as a matter of fact), would want to do anything to reverse my current state.

Ive always consign all my disruptive thoughts into this 'well' of mine that keeps me intact and composed. But as all of you are aware of, each well, or bowl, or pot shall reach a spilling point once too much is poured into it.

To the chagrin of myself, i have to accept whats thrown at me and be courageous and smile at the thought of fear. For fear is just an irksome emotion that holds you back and make you think twice, in which is totally paradoxical to our daily living (theres NEVER a second, golden chance in life). I am not denying the occasional fortuitous combination of luck and planning where things would go your way BUT how often does it happen on a daily basis?

Anyway, its good to get that off my chest. I suppose that is the purpose of a blog, isnt it? Nevertheless, do live life to the fullest, guys and gals, for life is filled with unexpected turns and each turn brings a little surprise to your life.

The entire concept of resolutions for the year sends anger down my spine as it reminds me that there are much more that i have to improve or do for the following year. Thinking back that i wasn't able to fulfill all my 2009's resolutions (cant recall them at the mo) gets me thinking whether is it worthwhile to create another 'Santa's list' of things to be better or achieve for the year 2010.

This moment, the day before New Year's Eve... i couldn't but wonder..

Another year... Another year of tougher expectations, higher goals and impossible list of errands and things to do. and yet when you think back for the year 2009, wasn't it the same??? To a certain extent of course...

This brief trip back or this holiday some might say has been revolutionizing.. Me being the ever so bipolar self since i stepped into Auckland is going through another one of my phase and yet i couldn't but give in my entire concentration and heart + soul into this phase of mine.

The First Hurdle's OVER!!

Had both of my final papers and glad that its over. Still have another psychiatry assessment tomorrow but it wouldnt be as mind boggling and nerve wrecking as my other 2 3-hours paper.

Was woken up by Bill, she wanted her stuffs which was conveniently in my room. So still having the woozy feeling in my head as i type on this post.

Having this spurge of the moment kind of thing to read up on my 5th year books but trying to resist the commandable yet stupid thought.

Only noticed that my thoughts are tangential at the moment and may not be adviced to keep on tapping on words on my blog. Will do so in the coming month with all the backed up things to be posted here.

Anyway, like i've said, the first hurdle is over.. Waiting for my results on the 4th Dec is my 2nd one and though i've passed all my runs this year, the final paper result is by far the one with the highest impact. So pray hard for yourself each night but add a p/s note for me along the way.

There's this game IQ Travellers (Oceania and Australia) on FACEBOOK that i would play only if i'm no longer at the top of the game chain. The thrilling part is to know that me and Mui is ranking on the top 10 in the WORLD. Amazing isnt it but sadly to say, i was holding the top record for the past few months and each time Mui beat my score i would just get on to it and beat him. Never allowing him to hold the record for more than a day but its starting to get to me.
As our score gets higher and higher, the stakes of the game gets higher and tougher as well. I would get so frustrated and would be palpitating if i were not be able to pin point a location to a perimeter of less than 99km. It would get to me and i would be in anger and dismay. I guess ill just have to hold that thought just for now.
I'm actually losing my mind knowing that i lost to Mui. ARGH!!!

'MIS'concentration

Just adding on some words from the land down DOWN under.

Its 8.34pm now and im in the computer lab still waiting for Swarna to finish her day. Kee Ping's here as well finishing his GP assignments. One car, one destination, 3 people.. do the math. Not complaining.. just stating.

Couldnt go on studying and typing my case history and finding journal articles to appraise. So lets blog...

In my 3rd week of LOCOMOTOR or some called it Orthopaedics. Seems quite interesting but hadnt been able to scrub in in any surgery yet. Bummer.

Work and work all the time. Just my luck to be constantly teamed up in the toughest team in the hospital. MORE work.. Didnt want to look like a jackass in front of my consultant but just couldnt avoid it with my scarce knowledge on human musculature anatomy. To add to its complexity of what i have to learn, im in the SPINE team. So thats Neurology and Orthopaedics all glued in the patients that i see with my team each day. No doubt its interesting but the level of knowledge i have to learn is so vast that i am still not able to see its end yet. Its not like im studying 24/7 though.

Anyway, going for a 10 min nap before continuing with my 'research'.

This was the day when Warehouse had sale on detergent powder from 4.99 to 1.95. We bought a total of 16/17 boxed of detergent for about 4-5 of us... Malaysians...

A BBQ day with YACMA (Chinese Med Student Asso).. I didnt get to over enjoy as i was cooking the BBQ. A spontanoues decision cause i was the member to be there to enjoy but i didnt. However, at least with me cooking it was faster and better quality.. No bullshit...

Parade at Newmarket

This was just a random parade held at Broadway, Newmarket during one of the summer days...
I miss those summer days when i was free to roam around town with out the repercussion of not studying and not getting enough rest... anyway, just a parade to share with...

This was the scary ones cause these little girls are only within the age of 5-7/8 and there were doing cartwheels and lifts... Imagine the 'corky innate cheerleader' developing at such a young age.

Starlight symphony is a Annual Event that collects fund for Make A Wish come true for kids in NZ where almost all the auckland Kiwi's would gather at the Domain, a huge field and just laying down there blankets and enjoy the music. The main attraction would be the laser and firework show. Had an ok evening i might say and the turn out was crazy.. There has to be at least 20-30 thousan human's there that night...

Kawau Island

Days before our over-strenuos run began, we were treated by Grafton Hall (i think its in our fees) to Kawau Island. It was fun though tiring due to the boat ride...
Only i, swarna, sharon and jade went from the group of 7 of us...
The most interesting event was when on of the bag that belong to one of the student flew overboard and the boat had to turn around and with her 'guardian angel' holding on the the bag, the bag didnt sink and manage to retrieve the bag.. phew..

Hei hei.. feeling so rejuvenated after the weekend break that i needed.. saw a parade though.. shall have that up soon i hope.
I'm actually in the North Shore Hosp library now reading up on my patient's case history while reading up on the tutorials and pre-op procedures for my pt and of course the typical Malaysian blood driven thing to do - (free printing).. not alot just a few of my notes....

I'm dreading today.. probably caught the Monday Blues cause i feel like its going to be a whole week before i get to my weekend... ANd thank God my registrar has his oncall next weekend... yup people... i'll be going to the hospital next week onwards for 12days consecutively... probably prepping myself to be a doc now... tired and blurred out...

MORE complains to come... hope not but sure wont be stopping yacking about how tired i am.

Surgery Posting Day 3 and 4

I had a grueling 16 hours of hospital yesterday....

Started at 7am and reached home at 11.30pm....

I scrubbed in for a 5 hours surgery. It was a reverse Hartmann's procedure and it was awesome. You know what's cooler?
I cut a small part of the intestine, used the diathermy, sutured on a live human and staples... I assisted in a surgery with my registrar... just the both of us, the assisting nurse.. it was beyond my belief i was doing it there and then with the whole abdomen opened infront of me and all the intestine outside.... ARGH.. though it was 5 hours, the adrenaline kept on going till i got out and almost collapse from my tiredness and hunger but it was worth it...

Clerked a patient in an actual form and filled in all the details and was kept in the patient's folder for reference.. awesome...

really felt like a doctor there but the timing is just helll.. im way way too tired right now.

BUT i still cant afford to sleep till i finish my electrolyte balance chapter, acute abdomen topic and read up on jaundices... im so so so so so tired...

Hell Has Begun

I'm in General Surgery runs now and its only been 2 days and i'm all worn out...

i look good in scrubs eh.... should be scrubing my first surgery tomorrow.. yay.. on the operating table.. hopefully all goes well and i get to scrub in

Yesterday i was so tired i reach home at 5.40pm, ate dinner, took a nap at about 7pm... but it turned into a sleep till 4.30am. Didnt cover what my registrar asked me to study so i thought maybe today i would read up and hopefully today would not be too bad...

Boy was i WRONG!!!

Clinical Lecture at 7.30am. SO woke up at 5am and took the bus at 6.20am.
Joined the team;
Consultant; Mr Rodgers and Mr Booth (Mr indicating surgeons)
Registrars; Dr Ali and Dr Lo (though it was Ali the whole time)
House Surgeons; Daniel and Sarah (sarah's nice, dan's not so friendly)
cont
joined them for clinics and stood there for about 31/2 hours till our 20 minutes lunch break

Then had Grand Round at 12.30pm where registrars would present a case and discussed through out the entire staff faculty

Followed by, 2 Cholecystectomy surgeries for about 21/2 hours
Finally, ward rounds with Ali, Dan and Sarah till about 5.30pm...

Think that was the end?
No need to read up on all the preop and postop, all on pancreatitis, gall stones, gastrectomy, surgeries and history taking....
ARGH... im going berserk right now..... SO tired.. so freaking tired... need to sleep and study.. wait its study then sleepp.. whatevr to laz 2 typ nymre.

With all my DHL items here and a super freaking tight budget shopping later, i managed to change my room into somewhat comfortable. I'm getting used to my 'nest'.

Btw, i got chosen to be the Floor Rep for the 1st flr. Apparently, ive got to arrange weekly meetings, plan trips, control the noise wolume (dont know who's gonna control me though), and also a fire warden.

Apparently, Auckland celebrates Lantern Festival like much much earlier than intended. So we managed to get there and the best part was the food NOT the lantern though... Sadly to say.. however, its all sold in NZD so its much much overpriced.

The War Memorial Museum is located at Auckland Domain which isnt far really... I went there once but apparently there was like 3 stories with multiple exhibitions which most of them you'll have to pay... SO being the typical Malaysian, i went for the free one till the next time...

This exhibition was entitled - SECRETS REVEALED...

2 Days in Auckland

Finally in Auckland after months and months of waiting for the time to pass and yet, i'm missing that 6 months already... Really.. Still have about 3 weeks luxurious spending and travelling and living vicariously without a single worry till the work starts piling in/up... Anyway, i am kind of tired with all the walking Li Shan made us do... Her "the Harbour is near" was an excrutiating 3-4 hours walk altogether but have to admit it was worthwhile...

Anyway, thanks to a few seniors (Kalpana, Florence, Danny and Jonathan), we was preped up yesterday with the places that we need to get our things done... So today opened a bank account, bought a pre-paid line (call me ppl -+6210540464 or txt you stingy peeps) and did some groceries shopping... Shopping here is expensive except Cadbury chocolate...

The weather here is 1/2 horridifying, 1/2 cooling. Its summer now so it should be hot. The sun rays are apparently dangerous for the skin and yet the wind is bone-chilling cold. Messing up my body thermal system. Its about 10-17 degrees.. IN THE FREAKING MID-SUMMER...

Will be going to Christchurch tomorrow with Mui to celebrate his b'day there... Hopefully Christchurch is just as nice. Hehe...

Food on the flight was worth the 11 hours of flight. The services are definitely better and on the first picture, the dark coloured fluid beside my orange juice is actually wine.. had a cup but regretted it later...

So thats about the past 2 days... Nothing extremely exciting..

But the people here are friendly and polite. It was amazing. And the car WOULD STOP WHEN YOU NEED TO CROSS ROAD.. apparently, they can be fined failing to do so. But jaywalking here can be fined NZD50 if caught. Not a joke... Really..

Time Hitting Me in the Face

Its now 1.05am

I'm lost in the trails of time,

I couldnt but notice that time is a creep.

Tired Out

Its 3.57 a.m. now.

Woken up from a nap with dirty clothes on, after an excruciatingly tired day. Had horrible lunch work today with only me, my mum and 1 worker dealing the entire shop filled with inconsiderate customers. 3 people to order the dishes, make the drink, serve their drinks, serve their food, pick up the tab, clean the dishes and wipe tables. 3 people i repeat.

It was a miracle that all went out ok in the end. Tired till my bones now.

You might be wondering whats up with the pics above? that's just the few random pictures in no order that i've picked out from facebook that i liked or missed. Sadly none of my High School or Primary school pictures... so people frm st jo and sri mawar start posting pictures.

Its amazing how much easier or motivated i am to have all the items/posts posted here all in 1 blog. I guess I should have thought of this earlier... Here's the first REVIEW on this blog.

Anyway, here's a simple review on

Grand Millenium Hotel, KL

So i'll start of by showing the pictures and captioning on the pictures displayed... Feast your eyes people and strain your wallets.

So i got a room.. cant remember when.. it was quite long ago... So my review is based on my weakened lazy memory of the place.

The bathroom was scented and has a separate bath tub and showers. I enjoyed the luxurious feel it gives and as you all know my OCD on toilets. I'd rather sleep on a matress only and have an amazing toilet.

As your eyes pops out of your socket, the feel it gives as you enter the room is amazing. Pillows was ample and soft while the LCD Tv filled the room with modern tech. Spacious and luscious.

Breakfast- A simple American breakfast which you all can see the emphasis on simple and i guess all of you are yearning to know the price

The Final Rating....

Few pointers of the whole experience...
1. Used their complimentary gym and spa. Unisex concept with commendable facilities. Not great but commendable.

2. Total price of the room was RM658++ that was inclusive of 24hr room internet. My wallet was floating in the air as i made the payment.

3. The 24 hr internet is RM60++. Try avoiding using it unless you have to.

4. Tried their laundry service. RM25++ for a pair of jeans. Expensive but the jeans is well pressed.

5. Since you've paid like 1 million to stay there, they are generous in their late check outs. So i did manage to stay till about 1.30pm.

That's it. Expensive but amazing service.

BTW people, my apologies that the MNTP is now cancelled due to the lost of pictures from my hard drive. that's it then.

Seriously Suffering...

India is really a handful of everything that you can think of. I can’t believe that i am actually surviving India after all the asthma attacks, running nose and itchy throats. A piece of secret, i’m actually blogging in this cubicle with 2 chairs (maybe stool), a door, a computer and no space for even my bag. It gives you the entire privacy to do whatever you want from checking your email to surfing *ehem* while your other hand is in your pants... Not kidding you... Hehe.. And its only 15INR (approx RM 1.00).

Ok, back to india.. Shopping here with my debit card cause i don’t have enough dough for another 3 weeks. Though some food come cheap, others are extortionate, intending to dig money out of expats and foreigners. The Indian food here are SPICY. Though we’ve been eating hospital food that are dirt cheap, where ever you go it is still spicy.. Its as if chilli here are grown in cement. Just ate one just now and i for once teared due to food and had a bad ear pain.. I officially HATE chilli...

My favourite place now is officially Mamak’s place (my foster mum, Godmother)’s place. I love the air there and the place there and the most importantly, i get to be taken cared of with nenek and mama.. hehe... though only going over the weekend, i have the greatest time there. And as a bonus, got to celebrate mama’s birthday with her last Saturday.

Hospital attachment- ERM, couldn’t get any hands on experience but did learn quite some stuff. Going to be integrated with the 1st year students next week for anatomy class and all my anatomy is already down the drain. Worried out my bones and brains now.
Btw, just wanna complain about the daily 1 hour ++ blackout that seems to be a norm here.. suffering...

Anyway, i really got to go now. scroll down and look at the nice places I’ve been to, thanks to mama. If not ill be stuck in my dirty, constantly blackout, noisy-smoking-drinking neighbours room.

My 100th Post.. Just wanna let every know that... HEHE.

People, i'm in Bangalore, India this very moment. I'm at my Mamak's Place at Whitefield where i shall be every weekend to get my mind of the hospital attachment.

INDIA - a place filled with people more than you can imagine. Unbelievable. Poverty is a definite here while hygiene is contemplated the whole time. Thank God i have my 3pkt of dettol wipes, 2 btls of dettol sanitiser, dettol fluid, dettol spray...

I know, i'm 'indiaphobic'... Going back to my hostel within 2 hours time. Worried and sad. Stressing out on what to expect tomorrow...

Pictures will be uploaded the next visit here.. I think this shall be the only place with internet... IT Hub konon. Hmph... A little less than what i have expected. Adios... Shal suffer in the midst of india...

Hong Kong Away

Hong Kong.. A land of expensive and upperclass living but with the price of a stressful life there. You play and shop hard, you've got to work hard for it...

Few things to shock you out...

1. An 1/2 bedroom apartment that's about 20-25 years of age shall cost you RM600,000 per unit.

2. A simple 2 bedroom apartment away from town cost about RM1.5-1.8 million

3. The petrol price there was approx ; 25litres for RM250. (seriously).. it was about 550HKD.

4. Food.. A meal as below shall cost about RM14. Egg, toast, milk tea and a piece of chicken.

5. Its a shopping heaven for ladies

6. Govt clinic charges RM130++ per visit

7. According to mui's aunt's husband (uncle in-law) the doctor (MO) there earns about RM50,000- RM 100,000 per month.

Spent about RM 3200 for everything there for 6days 5 nights. it was an experience that i shall never trade... Amazing...

Ladies, considering hong kong? Make sure you have 20 credit cards, 10 debit cards and lots and lots of cash or a bring your rich bf along, shopping was amazing cause some of the stuffs are cheap.. QUIKSILVER... cheaper and better options there...

Its been months and months and years since i last gave you all my fans something to read. i noticed there isnt a post in the month of sept and oct is ending already...

Reason for not blogging;
1. Went to Hong Kong...
2. Busy moving stuff here and there...
3. Internet connection is hard to find.. And need to post up pics as well so cyber cafe wouldnt do.

4. VISA application - air ticket, bank statements, med check up, letter of good conduct, accomodations, tuition fees etc... underwear to bring over....

Will be writing up on lots of stuff but pls give me some time to deal with my head-throbbing VISA application.

The best pork chop i've tasted in my life. Soft and juicy. Not too oily. Perfect as every bite you take allowing the taste linger in your mouth while the juice spurts momentarily making you feel like orgasm in a package in your mouth. 8.50 SD. It was worth it.

A skyride on Sentosa Island. Amazing views with a thrilling luge ride downhill... Luved it.

Sadly the only group picture we have... None with the four of us... but thanks to bill's bro for driving all the way.

Overtime Ramblings

Its been ages since i last ramble on my blog. Everyone... AND I MEAN EVERYONE are blogging as if their life depends on it.

People are blogging on Olympics, taking sooo much time editing pictures making them look outrageously over, some was even free enough to find out about personality trees (what a weird thing) and some just post pictures enough to cause a jam in the world wide web, and some cam whoring with their webcam...

ME? Busy working my ass off at my parents shop. Actually had to work 'overtime' now so that i could blog and i am so not going to post only one posts....

My apologies to those i have grabbed pictures from. But hell i've got so much to post...

But i still couldnt resist how true the odd tree personality thing was for me...

I mean look at it... It says im noble, unlimited ambition, ingenious strategist and passionate.. Dont understand what the other words are but hell ya i'm all those...

Bankrupting Days

Couldnt wait to go back MIRI when money will not be an issue at all. I'm literally bankrupt after all the traveling all the way up North to Kedah then all the way down south to Singapore.

If only money do grow on trees, i would stop all i have now just to grow it first then enjoy later but lets just say this is one dream that will never come true. its so much stress thikng that ill be spending more than not with such a tight pocket...

I know, i promised a nice long post on my trips but having an internet connection that shuts itself up like its suffering from temper tantrum and pre-menstrual stress doesnt help in anyway when i tried my best to post up anything... Dont worry, i shall have it all done once i'm back in Miri...

There's no place like home does seems quite the perfect phrase now though its a little cliche. The free flow of food and money, and not spending on RM5 perday... Ahhh...

Trippin' Pennilessly and Nostalgically

Traveling around the world, sight seeing and trying out amazing foods and culture is definitely an amazing experience especially imagining yourself in a breath-taking scenery while dining out on a mouth-watering food.

Now, after all the test and dramas, its my turn to take some time off to go around places that i havent been to... the problem(financial status)... ARGH..

NVM, my very first experience blogging of from a place other than vista.. I'm now in Swensen, Auto City, Juru, Penang. A place with internet conneciton faster than me going to toilet each time i finish a meal.. Hehe..

Well, shall be going about from Perak-Kedah-Penang-S'pore for the next 10 ten days. Amazingly tiresome and amazingly waste of money.. But this is the final trip i shall be having with my buddies and friends... Before we depart and go our very own ways....

Nostalgic moments;
1. Rochana and Ushank calling me the day before their flight back to Sri Lanka. A simple gesture but a very meaningful thought that touches my heart beyong its belief.

2. Receiving an sms from Ching Li thinking of going to the Cheer 2008 to watch it together made me think of the memories of cheerleading that we once had...

Hmmm... As tear trickles down my heart and memory flashes back at the back of my mind, i could help but wonder will we ever meet each other again...

Today's OSPE question was argh.......... I never felt so stupid before in my life... Seriously.. There's even a page where im praying to get 2 out of 10. Stupid thyroxine biochemical question... need to get B to pass.. argh... how now? Stressing out....

Pls pray for me just to pass... for once i'm not asking for more... just a pass will make my day, my month, my life...

Typing this while waiting to download the CSU video's from Uni E-Lab...

2 more exams to go... next 2 will be testing my clinical skills and my history taking skills... have to study ECG and pap smear as well... so freaking stressed now... Need to do very very well for tomorrow to cover up all the marks loss..

Stress is the only thing that is keeping me from dying out and lay flat on the soft and comforting bed. Couldnt stand the pressure any longer and yet, devil played his card by having me stuck to the TV...

Anyway, since im already watching shows... do watch Private Practice.. A show that blends in with Grey's Anatomy where Dr Addison Montgomery left Seattle Grace Hosp... and...

By the way, pls download or by the DVD outside as the one in NTV7 was filtered so badly.. thank God i downloaded it and watched the original..

Another show that seems to be a classic that caught my attention was Beverly Hills 90210... Its such a old classic that one of the actress; Shannen Doherty was in it as a teenager in comparison to her recent looks in Charmed... Give it a shot and you might like it BUT pls dont fall in to the devil's wing... Do it after your exams.... Study Hard...
